Lucy Rose – writer

I’ve lived in Southampton for close to eight years now, having originally moved here for university, graduating with degrees in Physics with Astronomy and a Masters in Creative Writing. Outside of academia, I’ve been acting since I was a wee lass, with standouts being a trip up to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and a directorial effort of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddygore, performed with the operatic society during my university years. I’m also an avid reader and have been writing novels in my spare time for the past ten years, or thereabouts, and have also recently turned back to music, performing as the lead guitarist in the local trans-queer punk rock band Hunting Hearts. I’m also a huge nerd, besotted by video games, RPGs, board games and good old Dungeons and Dragons! I decided to get involved with In Common as it’s the perfect platform for me to talk about and share my experiences as a trans-person and to hopefully help others in similar situations. And yeah, that about sums me up.
