I was born in Southampton in 1953, educated at Freemantle Juniors, King Edward VI School and the University of London, where I gained B.SC and an MA. I worked in further and higher education, and had a parallel career in music, playing keyboards in many local bands until I suffered a brain hemorrhage. I am a father of two – a son and a daughter. I’m a qualified tour guide and have now turned to writing. As well as contributing to In Common, I have written two books: Secret Southampton and an A to Z of Southampton with more in the pipeline.
I’m a lifelong Saints fan.
